Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Born at Fort Bragg, NC (Dad was in
the 82nd) and spent my first four months at the NC Memorial Hospital at
Chapel Hill. (Acquired Hydrocephalus following premature birth, have 2
Codman Hakim VP shunts.)
Lived in Tuscaloosa until age 13, and Fishers/Indianapolis, IN, from 13-18 yrs of age. Moved home for a couple years then came to Pensacola.
Got my ham license when I was 16, and I got my General and then my Extra ticket, Summer of 2007.
My callsign history: KB9YVX - 8 February 2001 through 22 June 2001. WX4TCL - 23 June 2001 through 24 November 2008. (both issued while in Indy.) Currently NV4P, issued 25 November 2008 while living in Pensacola.
You can find me on IRLP Node 4629, and EchoLink node 46290. I frequently monitor the K6JSI Western Intertie Network via IRLP Node 9453 (The Dallas Reflector 945, channel 3), but can also be heard on the (Las Vegas) Western Reflector, node 9250, the Indiana (Crossroads) Reflector, node 9200, and other nodes.
For HF mobile I use a Yaesu FT-857 with a Little Tarheel II on the hatchback. For portable, I use a Yaesu VX-7R. For 2 meters in the home, I use an Icom IC-V8000 on the IRLP box, and a Yaesu FT-1500 for "base".
